Our Connecticut-based client had bought an existing hotel that had gone bankrupt. This 500-room property was divided into a Holiday Inn and a Crowne Plaza, and it was our job to create beautiful, cohesive spaces that would not only attract new guests but also highly profitable events such as weddings and entertainment.
Developing and remodeling an attractive hospitality venue is as complex as it sounds. Hard costs of hotel construction such as material, equipment, and labor, not to mention design and engineering, will quickly get out of control under an inexperienced management team. And in this cutthroat industry, being unable to stick to budget requirements or falling off a timeline can destroy a venue before it even opens.
