As former headquarters of Hertz Car Sales, the building at 225 Brae Boulevard won design awards for its splashy glass facade, a novelty in 1987. But when the new owners took over, they thought the interiors needed a modern refresh. We agreed.
While the owners originally hired a high-end designer to craft a vision, they quickly discovered that the beautiful-on-paper design would cost a fortune to implement. They asked the Icon team to strategize to keep the essential concept but reconceptualize it to fit budgetary constraints. Working closely with our developers and managers, our design team stayed within cost allocation without sacrificing beauty: The original design firm graciously mentioned that they, too, preferred Icon’s iteration.
The transformed building is attracting high-end tenants looking to make it their signature presence.
